I appreciate the story about Taps and tears.

A week ago tomorrow, we attended the beautiful military funeral of my beloved brother, Jerry Wendel New, a veteran of war, a retired Army officer. He is at rest in the lovely Sam Houston National Cemetery at San Antonio.

Thank God, we can look forward to the promised resurrection, the best day of our lives. I wish to comfort the many who have heard that mournful sound described in that story, played for a loved one. Saying good-bye is hard, always harder than expected, probably. But we have a Savior Whose promises are such comfort to us. We know we can trust Him. Heaven will be empty as everyone there comes to take the faithful HOME!

My best to each of you,
Linda

Hi Linda:
I have had the opportunity to see the cemetery in San Antonio and its solemn beauty is comforting.. As is the sound of Taps, especially if you come from a military as I do. Yet I still long for that "new song" we'll hear and sing in Heaven as Jesus claims us as his own... For me that's the most comforting.
