I tend to try and read Heartlight every day and was interested in you Real Family story. How so wonderfully blessed you were.

I went through a bad time some years ago when I had been separated for some time and had just found out that my father was dying of cancer. It was awful (understatement). I had never called on my pastors for help specifically but at this time really needed support and so rang my Pastors wife (we were a really small church). The only reply I got was that i had a man in my life (which she knew was a non christian boyfriend) and to ring him. No support, no prayer, no comfort. My father was not kept in prayer - even though this was the church he used to attend before they moved away barely months ago. Even when the rest of the church found he was diagnosed with cancer there was no support, no prayer, no comfort. Needless to say I haven't bothered with a church since! I have not given up on God - merely religious people. I would love to find a church that could be called family. I am delighted to hear that your granddaughter is well.

Being a grandmother and a Sunday School teacher, I can totally relate to this... God has been impressing on me to wonderful gift he has given me through my family and my Sunday School class - ladies of various ages who come together and share heartaches and blessings and grow toward Christlikeness together.... God is so good! I'm so glad your granddaughter is OK...
