But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. (II Peter 3:8)

God does not measure time as we do.  Trust Him to do what is best … in His time.  Not ours.

“The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek him shall praise the LORD!” (Psalms 22:26)

Do you seek God? Are you looking for Him? Do you want to know Him and be in a relationship with Him?

If not… why not?

” ‘How weak-willed you are, declaraes the Sovereign Lord, when you do all these things, acting like a brazen prostitute! (Ezekiel 16:30)

Why do we act exactly the opposite of who we say we want to be?  It is a matter of will.  Decide who you want to be and act on it.

“Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished his entire house.” (1 Kings 7:1)

It’s interesting that Solomon spent 7 years building God’s temple, but spent 13 years on his own house. Later in life, Solomon turned away from God, bringing great hardship to his family. Don’t fall into the same trap. May we never pay more attention to our interests than we do to God’s interests!

“I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name’s sake, and you have not grown weary. But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.” (Revelation 2:3–4)

Don’t let love get lost along the way. We need to be sure that our doctrine is correct. We need to serve God in a way that pleases Him. But we can’t lose love along the way.

Once again Jesus went out beside the lake. A large crowd came to him, and he began to teach them. (Mark 2:13)

Jesus could of basked in the popularity of the large crowds.  Instead he taught them.  Our call is not to be popular, but to teach.  Be faithful to the calling.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalms 23:4)

Life can be hard. Circumstances can be dangerous. Sickness and death will surround us, violence may cross our path, hard times may be in store for us.

But God has promised to be with us. That should be a great comfort. He never said that He would take all suffering out of our lives. But He did promise to walk beside us through the valley.

He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. (II Thessalonians 1:8)

Judgment is coming and those who do not know God, or who do not obey the good news of Jesus.  Obey God.
