“If I had said, ‘I will speak thus,’ I would have betrayed your children.” (Psalms 73:15)

It’s normal to go through times of doubt, but we have to be careful about spreading that doubt to others. When we undermine the faith of others, we can do irreparable harm to their future.

Measure your words when your faith is weak. Share them with those that you know can handle it.

Say you are my sister, so that I will be treated well for your sake and my life will be spared because of you. (Genesis 12:13)

Why would a man of great faith come up with a plan like this.  Abraham failed to trust God to protect him.  Because he was afraid.  Faith and fear are opposite feelings but very real in our lives.  Choose faith.

“The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him.” (Proverbs 20:7)

Do you want to leave something special to your kids? How about the legacy of a life well lived?

It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air perched in its branches.” (Luke 13:19)

This is what the kingdom of God is like.  From a tiny mustard seed grows the large tree.  Kingdom growth makes no sense from the way the world plans growth.  Do not plan for growth like the world does.  Let God grow his Kingdom.

We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn. (Hebrews 5:11)

Are we slow to learn?  Is it because we do not try?  Study your Bible.  Discuss it.  Teach others.  Do not be slow to learn the truths that matter the most.

In a world of darkness, God is our light.

In a world of death, God is the fountain of life.

Put your hope in Him.

They went out and preached that people should repent. (Mark 6:12)

It is a basic truth of our faith.  Christians do not stay the way the used to be.  We repent.  Not just be sorry, but we work to change our lives.  Live penitent.

“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” (Acts 2:36)

Jesus is Lord. That means He has been given all authority. That means we are to obey Him.

Jesus is the Messiah. This Hebrew term refers to the Chosen One, specifically God’s Chosen One, the One through whom salvation comes. There is no other name by which we can be saved, we can obtain eternal life.

Jesus is Lord. Jesus is the Messiah.

…remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and conver over a multitude of sins. (James 5:20)

“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalms 103:12)

Today begins Yom Kippur, the Jewish celebration of the Day of Atonement. It’s the day when they remember God’s forgiveness.

May we remember every day that God has completely removed our guilt, taking it as far away from us as the east is from the west.
