I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins.” (John 8:24)

It seems so simple to decide:  believe in Jesus and be forgiven or do not believe and die in our sins.  But this decision changes everything.  Choose Jesus.

Life is better when we learn to appreciate what God has given us. When we’re looking to get more stuff or better things, we can miss out on the joy of what we already have.

“For forty years you sustained them in the desert; they lacked nothing, their clothes did not wear out nor did their feet become swollen.” (Nehemiah 9:21)

When we think of God’s people spending 40 years in the desert, we think of it as a time of punishment. Yet the Israelites remembered as a time when God took care of them. He fed them. He gave them water. Their clothes lasted for 40 years! They never got sores on their feet.

It was a time of punishment. But it was also a time of teaching and a time of care. That’s how God works.

As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. (Matthew 20:29)

There were disciples and there were those in the crowd.  There is a difference in being a follower as opposed to someone who just follows along.  Follower or fan.  Be sure which one you are.

“But if you or your sons turn away from me and do not observe the commands and decrees I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, then I will cut off Israel from the land I have given them.” (1 Kings 9:6–7)

Faithfulness must be lifelong. When we start with God, we must end with God. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about remaining faithful to our God. He’ll forgive our failures as long as we continue to seek Him.

It must have seemed to Noah and his family that they would never see land again.  But they did. And God promised to never destroy the world by flood again.  And He has kept that promise.  He always keeps his promises.

“If someone’s offering is a fellowship offering,” and he offers an animal from the herd, whether male or female, he is to present before the Lord an animal without defect. (Leviticus3:1)

God has never wanted us to give out of the left-overs.  What we give to the Lord is our best and it is the first fruits.

“If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?” (Proverbs 24:12)

False alibis may work with people, but they don’t work with God. He sees the truth. He knows the truth.

Better to live in a way that we need no cover-ups!
