“How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver!” (Proverbs 16:16)

What’s on your Christmas list? Here’s a couple to put at the top: wisdom and understanding.

…it will be the same for priest as for people, for master as for servant, for mistress as for maid, for seller as for buyer, for borrower as for lender, for debtor as for creditor. (Isaiah 24:2)

God treats us all the same and we are the same in His eyes.  This world has distinct categories in which people are assigned perceived value.  It does not work that way with God.

“He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’” (Revelation 21:5)

Are you unhappy with the world around? Do seems thing to be getting worse instead of better?

How about your health? Do you notice the effects of aging? How about the people around you? Do they seem to be getting older?

One day, everything will be made new. Permanently new.

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. (I John 5:13)

You do not have to wonder about your salvation.  Read this book and realize you are forgiven and will spend forever with God and Jesus.

“The LORD will fulfill [his purpose] for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever— do not abandon the works of your hands.” (Psalms 138:8)

We can believe that God has a plan. We can KNOW that He is in control. Still it’s easy to worry as we face problems along the way. It’s easy to want to say, “Don’t abandon me!”

Remember that God’s love last forever. It won’t wear out. It won’t fade away. It won’t die out.

God’s love endures forever.

“Tomorrow,” Pharaoh said. Moses replied, “It will be as you say, so that you may know there is no one like the Lord our God. (Exodus 8:10)

Moses asked Pharaoh when he would like to be delivered from the plague of frogs.  His answer was … tomorrow.  Why?  But we are not much different sometime.  God has delivered us and just waits for us to trust him.  But we wait.  Why?

“So be very careful to love the LORD your God.” (Joshua 23:11)

Interesting statement. Be careful to love God. What could that mean?

In the context, it seems to mean exactly what Jesus told His disciples: “If you love me, you will obey what I command.” (John 14:15)

It’s easy to talk about loving God. But if we don’t do what He says, we don’t really love Him.

If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. (Mark 3:24)

Be very careful about causing division among God’s people.  It only weakens the Kingdom.

“Then the peoples around them set out to discourage the people of Judah and make them afraid to go on building.” (Ezra 4:4)

Some people build up; others only seek to tear down. They find some sort of delight in keeping others from accomplishing their goals.

Focus on God and what you are doing for Him. As the saying goes, don’t let the turkeys get you down!
